Similar to items, relationships can be further defined with the use of Attributes and Tags. They are a great way of being able to provide further visual aids to the audience but also allow users to filter relationships out based upon attribute or tag values.

There are 2 ways of creating relationship attributes or tags:

  1. Pasting new Attribute/Tag columns into the data grid.
  2. Directly in the Story in the Story Setup

Creating Relationship Attributes in the Story Setup

To create a new relationship attribute in the Story, simply follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Story Setup
  2. Go to the Relationships Tab
  3. Select a type of attribute to create (Numeric, Text, List, Date)
  4. Optionally create labels for the attribute (Excluding Text attributes) and assign them a colour/thickness.

This is illustrated here:

These points are shown here:

Creating Relationship Attributes and Tags by Importing Data

When pasting in data to the data grid, SharpCloud will automatically create the relevant tags and attributes from the imported data.

Alongside Item 1 and Item 2 fields, if the below fields were also included in the data set:

This would be translated to:

Tags Column – This would generate the various tags (Scenario 1 – 4 in the above example), would be translated as individual tags with no group.

Risk, Impact and Strength – Will be translated into relationship attributes. Upon pasting the data into the data grid, there will be a data paste wizard appear where the type of attribute can be selected.
