Interactive filters appear as buttons at the bottom of the screen, which allow users to quickly bring items/relationships in and out of a view based on category, attributes, or even their relationships to other items in a simple and engaging way.
The interactive filter is the only filter that has the potential to affect the view structure.
This is where you can design and build the buttons displayed at the bottom of the view for users to interact with. You can select what labels to have available for the chosen attributes by using the “Select” button.
This is where you can define the filter to allow specific items to be visible on the view. The interactive filter can only have 1 filter query, so if you filter out an attribute label, this will affect ALL categories and not a specific one.
Once the Interactive Filters have been designed and implemented on a view, there are several information points worth pointing out.
Pinning the Filters
By using the arrow in the top left, you can set the filters to be displayed in 1 of 2 states either pinned or unpinned. Unpinned means the filters will be in a pop-up bar at the bottom and will overlap the view and you can bring them up or push them back down whenever they are no longer required. Pinned means the filter bar will have its own space on the view and will not overlap.
Resetting the filters will return the filters to the same configuration at the last save point. So, if you actively turned a filter off, saved the view and then activated that filter again, pressing reset will return the filter to off.
Clear is available using the arrow next to reset. Clearing the Interactive Filter means turning all the Interactive Filters to their default state irrespective of last saved point.
Using the Filter
The filter can be interacted with in 2 ways, either by clicking on the check box to individually reselect/deselect that label, or by clicking on the label bar which will focus in on that one label.
